For more information come see us at .   Project   Appen is looking to hire a new multilingual Transcription Supervisor to support the busy and expandingTranscription team in Davao. The role will involve supervision of transcription projects in various languages using custom transcription software.   The data we provide is used by major global technology clients to develop speech technology applications such as voice recognition.   You will supervise, train and support remote teams of transcribers working locally and around the world. You will consider linguistic issues such as spelling standardization and how to write casual speech. The successful applicant will be technically proficient, a clear communicator, a team player, and available to work full-time in Davao.   You must have a degree or equivalent in linguistics or a related discipline (e.g. translation, foreign languages) in order to work effectively in multiple languages. We are also interested particularly in applicants with substantial knowledge of major Asianlanguages (e.g. Mandarin, Japanese) and / or major European languages (e.g. French, German, Spanish), to help with supervision of projects in these languages.   Project Information:   Location: In Davao office (Not home based. No relocation available.)   Length: Permanent, Full time  Tasks   - Supervise teams of remote transcribers working from home   - Ensure project quality and timeliness targets are achieved   - Develop project instructions and training materials   - Recruit, train and supervise transcribers   - Monitor transcriber performance  - Work closely with one or two native speakers of the languages to review quality and assist with language decisions, eg. Correct spelling
